Bullets Before Blossoms

Bloom groaned at him and smiled, walking calmly next to him.

"Hopefully without a fight." Rocket reminded himself that he would be fighting for the sake of their small herd. "And...I love you more than anything in this world."

"But you know I love you more," She smiled and looked at him, slowing her pace.

"Are you so sure?" Rocket retorted in a friendly matter, looking at Bloom. "I think you're wrong."

Bloom glared at him, playfully of course. "Am I a liar? No, I'm not!" She snorted and walked farther.

"Okay, then," Rocket snorted and walked on after her. "Then I'm not lying to say I love you more." He thought his come back was pretty good, so he smiled.

Bloom smiled and nuzzled him, feeling very happy.

Rocket rested his nose on her's and took it back to look into her eyes. "You know, I'm glad I came this way. I would've never met you...And then you would probably been ruled by Namilcok and I don't know how cruel his punishment would be."

Bloom shuddered at Namilock's name. She snorted in referance to him. Looking at Rocket, she smiled and nodded.

Rocket looked up at the sharp tinge of his nose. "Here we are," he announced, sneezing because of the salty air. "I can never get used to that," he explained.

Bloom sneezed also, then laughed at him.

Rocket stepped into the water and turned around. "Hey!" He joked. "What's so funny? You sneezed, too!" He laughed at her, immitating what she did, joking.

"Yes, I did. But not like that!" She looked around and saw another horse a few meters away. "Namilock." She snorted.

Rocket's heart stopped. "Namilock!?" He repeated in disbelief. He then caught sight of the fiery coat and narrowed his eyes. "Why is he here? On your territory?"

Namilock didn't look any different but the large scar from his eye down to his mouth, from the battle between Rocket, Bloom, and him. "Stupid stallion," he said, frustrated. "And that mare gave me a scar!" He was looking into his reflection and stepped back, sighting two figures -- the last two horses he would like to see again. Rocket and Bloom.

Bloom backed into the water, standing next to Rocket. She snorted and looked into the water.

Rocket steppednt of Bloom. "I won't let that happen again," he said firmly into Namilock's directoin.

Bloom snorted and stomped her hoof, making a wave in the water.

Namilock looked up when a wave rippled by him adn he snorted angrily. "If you're looking for a treaty," he snapped angrily over to the twosome. "Then you're barking up the wrong tree."

Bloom had nothing to say, if she would say something, it would turn into trouble.

Rocket turned away. "Come on, Bloom. We don't want to upset him again. Although he is on our territory still."

Namilock shook his mane. Atleast that had gotten them off his back.

Bloom nodded and followed him. She closed her eyes and sighed, then walked onto the shore.

Rocket waited until they were alittle away from Namilock before saying, "It's a shame that we can't enjoy our territory without worrying about him!"

Bloom nodded in agreement, keeping her gaze down.

Rocket stopped for a moment, regaining his playful side. "I'll race you back to our sleeping place! Last one there is a rotten apple!" He set off in a slow canter then eventually into a gallop.
