Bullets Before Blossoms

Rocket nodded, "The same way I felt." Spotting an apple above him, he left BLoom's sside for a moment to stand on his hind legs as he grabbed an apple. He came down with a small thud!, and laid down again, nosing the apple toward Bloom. "You can have it," he offered.

"Thank you," She smiled and broke it in half. She nosed half of it to him and kept half for herself. She ate it slowly and laid her head down.

"Thanks," Rocket said, "But you can have it. I got it for you, anyway." He nudged it over to her, still smiling.

Bloom shrugged and ate it slowly. When she was done, she rested her head in the grass and sighed.

Rocket looked up at the setting sun then over to Bloom. "This place is amaxing." He whispered, as if in a trance at the setting sun.

"It is, almost as amazing as you." She blushed and smiled.

Rocket smiled, "But not as beautiful as you," he added. "Not nearly as close."

Blooms nuzzled him and smiled. "Thank you."

"It's true," Rocket persisted, nuzzling Bloom in return. "I say we go to sleep now," he said, the sky suddenly getting dark. "And look around the territory by morning. When we're ready to, anyway, and fully awake."

Bloom smiled and laid her head back down, closing her eyes.

Rocket fell asleep with ease with Bloom for warmth and comfort.

Bloom leaned into him and fell asleep.

Rocket woke up at the crack of dawn and looked up at the rising sun. Because he didn't want to wake Bloom just yet, he went back to sleep.

Bloom shifted and sighed, then turned to her side.

Alittle while later, Rocket woke up and turned to Bloom. He didn't want to wake her up, so he just watched the pretty mare.

Bloom was awake but it looked like she was asleep. She felt him watching her and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Good morning, sleepyhead!" Rocket said. "I was watching you, waiting for you to wake up," he said quickly.

"Then you would've been watching for about an hour already." She yawned and switched to her other side.

"Really?" Rocket asked in disbelief. "Then you've been awake for awhile..." He got up and shook his pelt free of clinging grass. He started to graze on the dew-covered grass.

Bloom nodded and smiled, then shook her coat also. She lowered her head to the water, drinking it.

Rocket finished grazing and after a quick sip from the lake, he withdrew his head and looked around. "Where to first?"

"Maybe the bay?"

Rocket nodded, making his way to the bay confidently. He would risk his life to fend off Bloom's territory. He jsut hoped Namilock wouldn't be looiming around, but Rocket knew that he wouldn't be back for a while from Bloom's hard kicks.

Bloom trotted, catching up with him. "What if Namilock's there?"

"He won't be," Rocket said firmly - not at Bloom, but to himself. "And if he is there, I'll make him leave. Fight or no fight."
